Wiregrass offers an entrepreneurship course – Valdosta Today

VALDOSTA – Wiregrass and Guardian Bank partner with VSU for entrepreneurship courses for students and alumni.

Wiregrass Georgia Technical College announces the 8th Fall Guardian Bank Entrepreneurship Academy starting October and November, free to current Wiregrass students and alumni. Valdosta State University’s UGA Small Business Development Center is partnering with Guardian Bank and Wiregrass Georgia Technical College to deliver six courses with 12 hours in total. Business topics that will be covered include: writing a business plan, finance and accounting, marketing, human resources and strategic planning. Courses will have guest speakers knowledgeable in specialist business areas, self-assessment and opportunities to participate in a question and answer time with guest lecturers. The UGA SBDC will also provide individual counseling to participants.

This Entrepreneurship Academy is made possible by the generous pledge of $50,000 over 5 years from the Guardian Bank. Wiregrass President DeAnnia Clements said, “Wiregrass is thrilled to be able to partner with Guardian Bank, UGA Small Business Development Center and Valdosta State University to offer these courses not only to Wiregrass students and alumni , but also to the community. This fits perfectly with the college’s workforce development mission.

The course dates are October 5, 12, 19, 26 and November 2 and 9. All classes start at 1:00 p.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. Classes are offered face-to-face on the Valdosta campus or one can participate virtually.
