Srinagar, November 10 (KNN) The Planning and Monitoring Directorate and the SKIIE Center of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology, in collaboration with the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, launched a series of 66 training programs on Wednesday. professional training.


According to reports, SKUAST-K has initiated the entrepreneurship development programs in various emerging vocations in agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry and related sectors.

The main objective of the training programs is to develop entrepreneurship in young people and develop their skills so that they can launch their own innovation-driven startups and business ventures.

To officially launch the professional training programs, SKUAST-K held two positions at the Faculty of Horticulture, Shalimar Campus and the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, Shuhama.

The Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-K, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai who attended both ceremonies as the chief guest while thanking the Ministry of MSMEs for their support said it was a opportunity to build, train and train the workforce for Agriculture 4.0.

He said the university has a responsibility to prepare students, industry and entrepreneurship so that they can lead the conversion from subsistence agriculture to sustainable commercial agriculture to benefit the economy. in general and the agricultural community in particular.

“SKUAST-K has already taken many steps to make the university a hub for innovation and start-up in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Saheel Yaqoob Allaqband, Deputy Director, MSME Development and Facilitation Office, Srinagar Branch, Ministry of MSMEs, spoke in detail about the procedure and requirements for skills development courses.

He said the aim of the training should be to encourage and identify young people who are motivated by the creation of startups and entrepreneurship so that they can turn the economy around.
