Mumbai, May 11 (IANS): In a unique initiative, a traveling bus will impart skills for jobs, innovation and entrepreneurship to 4,000 young people in 36 districts across the state over the next 40 days, officials said Tuesday.
Skills Development Minister Rajesh Tope flagged the Rajyavyapi Udyamita Yatra bus for the company, taken over in conjunction with an NGO YouthAid Foundation, from Vidhan Bhavan.
“The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted the livelihoods of many poor urban, rural and tribal people. We are committed to helping them by creating opportunities to restart and revive business activities,” Tope said.
He said that over the next 40 days, the bus will undertake the 4,000 km long yatra across the state to provide statewide outreach to people who are in dire need of transportation options. appropriate livelihoods.
YouthAid Foundation founder Mathew Mattam said its trainers will meet and train 4,000 entrepreneurs along the way, connect with more than 40,000 people and impart skills across different industries.
“They need to be trained to start micro-businesses, nurture people who have ideas but don’t know how to implement their business innovations, create an entrepreneurial spirit, and educate schools and colleges,” Mattam said.
“The aim is to encourage and develop local entrepreneurs, businesses and markets and to mentor young people to become job creators” instead of just “job seekers” , with the goal of creating 10,000 entrepreneurs by 2030 and contributing to an inclusive society. economic growth,” Mattam said.
The Yatra will include a three-day entrepreneurship training program in all districts for which the YouthAid Foundation will provide details of legal compliances, government programs, connect them with entrepreneurs after completing the training and marketing assistance to start at least 4,000 micro-enterprises by December 2022.
After Yatra, the group of trained entrepreneurs will receive support from the YouthAid Foundation and the state government to help create self-employment opportunities at the local and village level and reduce migration to urban centers, said Tope.
The Yatra will also contribute to the growth of the sustainable development of the United Nations and the goal of Atmanirbhar Bharat of the Union Government.
