10-Day Entrepreneurship Development Program Inaugurated by JKEDI Manager at Reasi & Budgam

Director of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of Jammu and Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (IAS), on Thursday inaugurated a 10-day online Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) at the district center of JKEDI, Reasi.

He also interacted with participants in another program run at the district nodal office, Budgam

The program is a special initiative of Mission Youth, Government of Jammu and Kashmir. It aims to provide financial assistance to young women to set up paid self-employment activities suited to their skills, training, abilities and local conditions. It will empower and encourage women to establish income-generating units through manufacturing, service or trade activities.

Candidates will undergo a 10-day training program focusing on personal development, basic business skills, formulation of business and marketing plans, account management, industry-specific technical inputs and will be briefed on all formalities related to the creation of a business. . The objective of the program is to help the candidates to be autonomous and to facilitate their capacity building.

JKEDI Director Ajaz Ahmad Bhat emphasized the need for inclusive growth through the empowerment of women and the inclusion of tribal, backward and frontier populations in nation building, as envisioned by the Honorable Lieutenant Governor of UT of J&K, Manoj Sinha.

Upon successful completion of the training program, these registered candidates will receive assistance in establishing or expanding an existing business. The project report will also contain provisions for the acquisition of fixed assets (plant and machinery, equipment, furniture and fixtures) to meet working capital requirements for the purchase of various products, equipment and tools.

Trained female applicants will also be facilitated to avail financial aid in the amount of Rs 5.00 lakh. Through this initiative, women will be able to improve their socio-economic status and become more involved in nation building.
