Entrepreneurship Development Program Begins at SMVDU – Jammu Kashmir Latest News | Tourism
KATRA, March 7: Eight-day “Entrepreneurship Development Program”, organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of SMVD University and sponsored by the Department of Higher Education, J&K, started here today today.
The program has been designed for students with the participation of about 75 students from different colleges of JK.
In the keynote speech, SMVDU Vice Chancellor Prof. R.K. Sinha motivated students to become job creators rather than job seekers and advised them to apply knowledge to pursue their interests.
Anoo Malhotra, Director, Industries & Commerce, who was the guest of honor at the inaugural ceremony, emphasized the adoption of green ways of industrialization and the knowledge of local resources. She highlighted the opportunities available in various J&K UT schemes.
Dr. Yasmeen Ashai, Director of Colleges, Department of Higher Education J&K, focused on reforms in higher education courses through technology and entrepreneurship.
Earlier, Dr. Supran Kr Sharma, coordinator of the program pointed out that the program was designed to sensitize the younger generation to what is happening around them. Nagendra Singh Jamwal, Registrar, SMVDU, briefed on SMVDU’s efforts to encourage innovation and identify business opportunities. Dr. Sharada Potukuchi, Dean of Academic Affairs, delivered the formal vote of thanks.
