Pune (Maharashtra) [India]October 26 (ANI/SRV Media): Symbiosis Center for Management Studies, Pune is one of the country’s leading management institutes dedicated to excellence in teaching, learning and research.
It is also one of the few institutes in the country to have entrepreneurship as a stream specialization for undergraduate students.
Entrepreneurship is nurtured not only in the classrooms of the institute, but is a driving force among the students, which is rightly justified by the budding entrepreneurial startups resulting from it. In times of Covid, when people struggled to find direction, students at the Symbiosis Center for Management Studies (SCMS) laid the groundwork for their startups.
Growth Heads Digital was started a year and a half ago by two final year students from SCMS, Pune – Sohil Srivastava and Natta Utkarsh, along with Mihir Nikam and Yash Reddy. Growth Heads Digital aims to use the talent of India’s youth to help more and more brands grow online, which has become a greater necessity during the pandemic. Growth Heads is being incubated by Symbiosis International (Deemed University).
Launched six months ago by four final year students from SCMS, Pune (Anant Jethalia, Krishna Poddar, Nikhil Chhabra and Tushar Jain), WhiteCollar was simply an idea born out of observation. They realized that while the talent of young people in our country is indisputable, it is the ability to project themselves professionally that prevents most students or young professionals from realizing their professional aspirations. White Collar is now certified as a start-up under the Startup India program by the Government of India and is currently being incubated under Symbiosis International (Deemed University)

Youth India Foundation is a social entrepreneurship platform. More than a year ago, it was started by Aanis Narnolia (SCMS student) with its founder and two confounders. Today, he is united with no less than 6,000 students from the Youth India family. Youth India aspires to provide an excellent platform for students to discover and create social enterprises. It further strives to achieve various social, cultural and environmental goals that are often associated with the voluntary sector in areas such as poverty reduction, health care and even community development.
Dr. Adya Sharma, Director of Symbiosis Center for Management Studies, said, “We constantly strive at Symbiosis Center for Management Studies, Pune to help students develop a mindset for entrepreneurial leadership. We try to instill skills in our students so that they create economic and social value for themselves, for their organizations and for society as a whole”.
To gain and enhance entrepreneurial knowledge, SCMS, Pune had organized Entrepreneurship Conclave 2021 online on 22nd October 2021. Two inspiring tech entrepreneurs, featured in Forbes 30 under 30 namely – Satanik Roy Co-founder of Hyper Xchange and Nishita Baliarsingh , Co-founder of NEXUS shared his insights, entrepreneurial journey, and valuable insights as keynote speakers at the conclave. The interaction with the lecturers helped the students to understand the basic details involved in launching a startup, the importance of having sustainable business practices and also to overcome the fear of being a beginner in this process. The students participated actively and got their questions answered enthusiastically by the lecturers. The session was an enriching experience leaving the audience asking for more.
Innovation in any country flourishes with a strong support system and the guidance of educators, the knowledge provided, and the help of supportive policies. Nowadays, it is important to hone the skills of young minds to enable them to be job-givers rather than job-seekers, and at SCMS, students are rightly guided in this direction.
